Nina Hollein was born in Vienna and lives and works in New York. After studying architecture at the Vienna University of Technology, she worked in architectural offices of Peter Eisenman as well as Tod Williams and Billie Tsien in New York and with Albert Speer in Frankfurt, among others.
Between 2003—2008 she devoted herself to book publications and journalistic work on the topic of art and children.
In 2008 she founded the fashion label NINAHOLLEIN and presented her first collection at Galerie Bärbel Grässlin, Frankfurt, and Galerie Mezzanin, Vienna. In 2009 she opened a boutique in Frankfurt am Main and launched temporary pop-up stores throughout Germany and Austria.
Since moving to the USA - in 2016 to San Francisco and 2018 to New York - she has created costumes for film projects and stage performances in addition to her own collections, as well as art exhibitions such as 2021 at the Kunstverein Montez in Frankfurt, 2024 at the Austrian Cultural Forum New York and at Schlossmuseum Linz.
